Concordant Version Database
The information that follows is out of date. The Bible Companion Series company is no longer in business and we have no further information concerning them or the Bible Companion Series program.
Concordant Literal Version
Computer Edition
The Concordant Version, computer edition, is comprised in the Concordant Literal Version (CLV) Database, which includes the Concordant Literal New Testament and all available portions of the Concordant Version of the Old Testament, combined. For use, it requires either Bible Companion Series or SeedMaster software (for Windows 95/98 and Windows 3.1 only).
SeedMaster for Windows is no longer available for registration. Only the Bible Companion Series (BCS, which is very similar to and replaces SeedMaster) may be registered. BCS, which is an excellent and unusually capable Bible study program, is available on CD-ROM, in three editions: Family (F), Student (S), and Teacher’s (T). Each BCS edition contains many Bibles and texts (F:12; S:13; T:16), Lexical Resources (F:4; S:4; T:6), Topical Resources (F:5; S:6; T:6), and Commentaries (F:5; S:8; T:9).
As a demonstration of Bible Companion Series, however, we provide the final version of SeedMaster (v.3.1; two 3.5" high-density disks, instructions on disk, plus on-line help) without charge together with orders for the CLV (Concordant Version) database, which can later easily be transferred for use with the BCS program.
The CLV database contains the entire text of the Concordant Literal New Testament, as well as, in preliminary form, twenty-eight of the thirty-nine Old Testament books of the Concordant Version of the Old Testament (all published portions of the CVOT, together with several additional unpublished CVOT portions). A list is included which specifies which Old Testament books are actually from the Concordant Version of the Old Testament, as well as which ones have been adapted for use from Young’s Literal Bible.
Users who purchase the CLV database may, within one year from date of purchase, upon additionally purchasing the BCS product from the Concordant Publishing Concern, obtain a credit for the amount of their purchase of the CLV database. Thus, upon upgrade to BCS, the CLV database is itself effectively provided without charge to all who purchase the BCS. (The CLV database is not included on any BCS CD-ROM; it is only available on floppy disk.)
You may order the CLV database (SeedMaster v.3.1 included) from us for $35 (please add $2.45 shipping and handling; California residents add sales tax). Or if you prefer, simply order one of the the Bible Companion Series editions, together with the CLV database.
The prices for the BCS products have been significantly reduced by the publisher; hence we have reduced our selling prices accordingly. We now sell the Family edition for $75.00 (was $103.20); the Student edition for $110 (was $175.20); and the Teacher’s edition for $195 (was $279.20). Each product is provided on CD-ROM; includes printed instructions, and the CLV database on 3.5" disks (please add 7% shipping and handling; California residents add sales tax).

The benefit of having at hand, through the BCS software, an instantaneously-produced, in-context, concordance-listing of any desired word or phrase in the entirety of Scripture, will, we trust, be evident to all. Further, if both the CLV and KJS databases are installed in Bible Companion Series, even if the user can recall no more than the slightest distinctive fragment of a text, he will be able to find that text within seconds. This is so even if he should have no idea of the text’s chapter or verse, and is unsure of its spelling.
BCS is able, effectually, to search for most every occurrence, in any on-line version, of whichever translated words–whether rendered uniformly in translation or not–correspond to the Strong’s Hebrew or Greek number of the word in the Original from which the translated words are derived. No matter how uniform or non-uniform the translation, when searches are made based on Strong’s numbers, every verse which is keyed in the KJS database in which the translated word appears (i.e., the translated word which corresponds to any certain Strong’s number), will be found. (BCS knows the verse in which every occurrence of each Strong’s number appears within the KJS. It can search for the verses in which any certain number is included, and then display those verses in any version.)
It is easy for BCS to discover the Strong’s number for any word in the CLV. One need only make both the CLV and the KJS “live” on screen at the same time, and then take note of the corresponding KJS word to that of the CLV. The companion Strong’s number is displayed right in the KJS text. If one’s present purpose is not to search either the CLV or the KJS based on this number, but to consult what is often a considerable amount of lexical information concerning a word in question (with still further hypertext jumps provided to derivative or related words, even as to pertinent, related Scripture passages), one need only activate BCS hypertext, and then take note of the information provided.
Every word in the CLV (or any other Bible database), and all the occurrences thereof, is instantly accessible from within an alphabetical list. Each word, together with its number of occurrences, is listed adjacent to other words of similar spelling. When a word is highlighted and <Enter> is pressed, all the verses within the Search Range (which may include the entire OT and NT) are immediately accessible, the first screenful of verses being visible, in which the search word appears in bold.
BCS is an easy-to-use, full-featured, unified program, and each BCS edition includes many valuable study tools. Automatic synchronization of Bibles with reference materials provides convenient access to all information. Multiple windows let you easily discover related information.
We have now prepared, for use with BCS, a special Greek transliteration font (available in TrueType format) which, by means of accented characters and special ligature characters, provides full Greek transliteration capabilities. Both uncial Greek (as in the Concordant Greek Text) and standard Greek and Hebrew fonts are available as well.
The following is a listing of the contents of each of the Bible Companion Series’ editions, Family, Student, and Teacher’s. The abbreviations “F,” “S,” and “T,” respectively, indicate that the specified translation or other resource is available on the Family, Student, or Teacher’s edition of Bible Companion Series.
